We never thought we'd hear 'hip' and 'fly fishing' mentioned in the same sentence, but there's always a first for everything. If you're a small fish in a big pond and are looking for the latest fishing gear for your next outdoor getaway, check out the Urban Angler located here , on 5th Avenue near Madison Square Park. Aside from the usual rods, lines, and lures you may be interested in the store also offers services that plans itineraries for trips. Some locations include Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and the travel center of the world: Montana.
The store has its own online magazine called "This is Fly", which caught our eye, offering articles, interviews, product reviews and recommending music to fish to, hence the hip factor. (Who would think a fisher would listen to a mixtape containting music from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's or the Decemberists?) Only in New York. Tuna in for more.

actually fishing is HUGE in montana. i remember seeing a big store for fishing there. and, AND, that's where that "a river runs through it" or whatever w/ brad pitt was filmed.
Fly fishing is huge if you are in the know all about it, but not for amateurs.
