Believe it or not, in my country we grill Sweet Plantains. They end up hardening to a nice shell on the outside, and a semi-sweet tender texture on the inside.
When I was young, the lady downstairs from our 2nd-story house would go outside with a little portable grill and sell them for cheap, and she was very successful.
That takes me back...
