City Uprising: March 7-12

Turn to March in your calendar and make note that City Uprising will be taking place on the 7th through the 10th. The event promises to be a challenging and inspiring experience:
City Uprising is a unique opportunity for people to unite in the worlds great urban centers in order to ‘propel the local church and prosper the city’. Through an intensive worship and service experience City Uprising hopes to inspire resolute commitment to the local church, raise awareness of the need to reach the world’s major cities with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ through new churches, and build a bridge into the heart of the city through love and service.

For New York, they note:

The home of 170+ languages, 8.5 million people, and the birthplace of City Uprising, New York CIty Uprising is the ultimate mission experience. Past participants have been a part of record breaking HIV/AIDS testings. Those registered can look forward to working with local New Yorkers, creating art, and engaging in life changing conversations during the day. Worship and teaching designed to compliment service projects will happen at night.

Be prepared to be an integral part of something huge.

Do you plan on attending? What do you think it means to "propel the local church and prosper the city" in the context of NYC?
