Gallery Church Goes Organic

Tired of the Prodigal Son sermon? The Gallery Church is offering a fresh sermon series called Organic: A study of the organic images in sacred scripture.

Each Sunday an artist from the church community "will be interpreting and illustrating each of these biblical themes through their art." Among the artists involved ar Joe Garrad, Rachel Chester Kelsey Foster, and Neil Brown.

The series started back in April, and so far has covered:

The Gallery meets on Sunday mornings at 10:30 at PS 9 (corner of 83rd and Columbus) and on Sunday evenings at 6:00 at The Salt Art Space (1160 Broadway at 26rd).

TG Announces New Sermon Series: Jesus' 7 Woes

Trinity Grace is starting a new sermon series this Sunday that is based on Jesus' seven woes:

We are beginning a new sermon series on Jesus' seven woes to the scribes and Pharisees (Matthew 23), searching our hearts for our own hypocrisy and finding Christ's call of freedom during this season of repentance.

There are three different services and locations you can choose from:

UWS, Emily Dickinson School, 96th and West End, 10.30am. Full kids' program.
East Side, Zion St Mark's Church, 84th between 1st and 2nd, 5pm. Full kids' program.
Chelsea, St Paul's German Church, 22nd between 8th and 9th, 7pm.

At the Upper West Side location, breakfast will be available at 9:45 AM.

The Gallery Church Moves to New Location

The Chelsea branch of The Gallery Church, which previously met Rustin High School, will begin meeting at the Salt Art Space this Sunday, January 4. The Salt Art Space is located at 133 West 25th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). The service will begin at its regular 6:00 PM time slot.

The church had this to say about the move:

By beginning to meet in our art space, we are committing to this downtown community and to the desire we have to serve artists and display God's greatness in New York City. This move is a step toward fulfilling our vision of having a larger art space which can also serve as a permanent meeting location and the offices of the Gallery Church. As a community, we will intentionally pray for a larger space and for God to continue to open doors for our church to serve, collaborate with, and support artists and the surrounding community.

The Salt Art Space is the newly renamed the SALT gallery, which opened last July.

This Sunday in their new meeting location, The Gallery Church will continue its sermon series "Fresh Start." It will teach the various disciplines to promote spiritual growth. The series started last week, and you can get the podcast from The Gallery Church's website.
